Description

In order to foster effective communication and collaboration within enterprises, effective definitions for business Roles, Tasks, and Responsibilities need to be created and communicated methodically and continually. Further, each Role needs to continually and methodically be researching how they are realizing their role versus how that role is evolving in the larger world environment. We will be discussing how to accomplish these tasks using both the IT Maturity Method, as well as cloud based tools such as TopicHero.com.

Description

There are hundreds of different leadership models in existence. We will be discussing the IT Maturity Method for Leadership Improvement. This method breaks Leadership into objective and subjective elements. Subjective elements are essential and are cultural/social based. They can be used both productively, but unfortunately they can also be misused. The social elements include both Interpersonal Communication and Character techniques. Objective elements include Management, Organization (e.g. delegation, escalation), Extent, Business Culture, and Vision. We will be focusing primarily on the objective elements as they have associated business related measures as well as associated tuning and improving.

Evolving Enterprises with Collaborative Intelligence

Description

Collaborative Intelligence is the combination of multiple people, along with multiple computational resources, and provides the most powerful reasoning available. Within enterprises individuals and teams need to regularly share and update organizational, non-project related, ad hoc, and other data. This can include links, news feeds, search engines, chat, notes, webpages, newsletters, images, and other similar data. Typical chat, web pages, and other common sharing tools are often, time consuming and clumsy to use, to the point where data is flat and out of date. We will show how to create Collaborative Intelligence environments where data sharing turns into reasoning process sharing between team members. We will be using TopicHero.com.

IT Maturity, Inc. will be giving a presentation on “Improving Leadership with IT” at this years Penguicon in Southfield, Michigan.

Here is a description:
Exceptional leadership is the ability to methodically and continually create heroes! From an organizational perspective, most leadership research and theory is focused around individual leader psychology. IT Maturity takes an alternative IT perspective of leaders as entities operating within organizations, orchestrating how other entities interact with each other, to optimize productivity. IT Maturity Leadership includes principles in five different categories: Management, Organization (structure), Extent (of activities), Culture, and Vision. IT tools can be used to help enterprises to do this both technically and organizationally (i.e. enable individuals to excel).

Future Leadership Meeting

We live in an era of massive change and growth. We are just at the beginning of this era and are privy to only the first small steps. What we have witnessed over the last few decades in science, technology, process, and culture will be dwarfed by what is very soon to follow. This group’s purpose is to discuss and foster this evolution from the perspective of Leadership and associated tools and processes.

We will be taking a hard look at what context Leadership exists in, what elements it works with, and what it means. We will also look at newly available processes, technology tools, and training.  Our focus will be on education, analysis, evolving activities within enterprises, and what the future will bring.

In this first meeting, we will talk about:

1) Leadership as the enablement of entities to act and interact within an environment. (See http://itmaturity.com Lead Improve).

2) Identification of Topics of interest to the group, as well as identifying volunteers to either present or obtain presenters.

Presentations will be from 5 to 30 minutes, with additional associated discussion and networking.
